Web site design and development
The Internet has transformed the way we communicate and find information. It allows a lot more people to access a lot more information. Everything is out there waiting to be explored. So what are you waiting for? Begin your journey! The web sites I am currently working on are listed below. All new sites I create conform to W3C standards. A standards-based site design will look great in all Internet browsers and even when printed on paper.
Ten Ton Hammer
Ten Ton Hammer provides readers with one of the largest selections of free MMO guides on the Internet, along with quality features, editorials, previews and review of your favorite games. Built as a community nurturing network from the ground up, Ten Ton Hammer provides game players with a home away from home. I work on weekly challenges, such as creating graphics to feature the latest articles and events, and long-term projects such as designing, building, and implementing community sites for the network. Impressionist at Large
David Sparks was looking for a great way to showcase his talents and found a web site to be perfect solution. It's easy to update with new impressions, large enough to showcase all of them, and able to support video and audio clips. Goals of the project were to create a clean, unique look and offer video and audio. (2007-Present)
Erie Press Systems
As North America's leading manufacturer of forging and forming presses, Erie Press Systems is looked to for quality from around the world. They needed to improve their presence on the web to showcase their capabilities to a worldwide market. Key goals of the project were to make a site that is optimized for search engines and easy to maintain. (2007)
Stargate Worlds
Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment is developing worlds for Stargate fans to explore in a new online game, Stargate Worlds. I'm developing sites for their fans to explore and learn about the game . I'm working on the community web site, message boards, developer blog, and other graphics design projects. Katie Postma, CME community manager, sums up my involvement in her blog post. (2006-2007)
Myst V: End of Ages
To help promote the last game in the Myst series, I was asked by Ubisoft to select a puzzle from each of the previous games to be included on the Myst V web site. I collected graphical and audio assets from each game and modified the puzzles to a form implementable on the web. Each puzzle was then implemented by web design firm Soleil Noir. (2005)
Lion Entertainment Board
The Lion Entertainment Board organizes on-campus events featuring bands, films, and comedians. This is my first site to use CSS thoroughly and cleanly. Also, it is the site that features the most original Photoshop images I've created. (2004-2005)
D'ni Explorers Guild
Based on the D'ni universe (explained through the computer games of Myst and Uru by Cyan Worlds), this site hosts discussions, stories, and photos from the Myst fan community. This is one of my most technically advanced sites; PHP and SSI "fetches" information from different sources (such as the message board) to display on one page. (2003-Present)
Almy Hall and Ohio Hall
The Almy Hall and Ohio Hall web sites provide information for new students and current residents. You can learn more about rooms and layouts of the buildings, get news on activities from The Hall Councils, and learn more about the Resident Assistants. The site also lists many useful links (like the cafeteria menu) to ease college life . It even has the local weather! (2003-2005)
Myst Blogs
This blog was set up for Ubisoft and Cyan Worlds employees, along with Myst fans, to discuss what adventures lie ahead in the worlds of Myst. It's a great place for an inside look into the gaming industry. I worked on the design and production of the site while amon-re implemented the code. (2004-Present)
Gamespot Myst Union
The Gamespot Myst Union is designed to provide information and answer questions of new fans of the Myst series. It is a portal to the latest news and events in the Myst universe. Powered by Gamespot's union functionality, it includes a message board and several ways to update and customize the site. (2005-Present)
